Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle’s $100 million Sussex empire and their seven-year marriage are on the brink of collapse due to the entitled twosome’s greed, sources say.

Harry, 40, recently marched into a London court, where his attorney attempted to appeal the U.K. government’s decision to halt his automatic right to state-funded security while visiting his homeland.

The Duke of Sussex has insisted that he and his 43-year-old wife and their kids Prince Archie and Princess Lillibet are entitled to the same protection afforded to working royals, even though he and Meghan ditched their official palace duties in 2020 and put down roots in her native California.

Authorities even rebuffed Harry’s bid to privately pay for the police protection, arguing that it was inappropriate to use public officers as bodyguards for the rich.

Sources have slammed the prince for not letting the issue lie — after the government already burned through over $500,000 in taxpayer money to defend its original argument in court.

An insider believes that the trip overseas was also another attempt by remorseful Harry to broker peace with his father, King Charles, who is battling an undisclosed form of cancer — but the monarch jetted off to Italy with his wife, Queen Camilla, shortly after the prince’s arrival.

Harry’s relationship with his family has appeared especially fraught ever since he and Meghan gave shocking post-marriage interviews criticizing his kin for their self-named multimillion-dollar Netflix docuseries and the duke trashed his relatives in his tell-all, Spare, which earned him a reported $27 million.

“Harry knows Meghan is not beloved by his family, and I think he is really trying, especially now since his dad has cancer,” the insider tells The National ENQUIRER. “I feel that the royal family is fed up with him and they’re nervous about Meghan. She really is the root of all his problems.”

Meanwhile, Meghan has received scathing reviews for her As Ever products and her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder.

Tasters have trashed As Ever’s raspberry spread as “runny” and “acidic,” likened its shortbread mix’s cookies to hockey pucks and found its peppermint tea “bland.”

Some podcast listeners have also scoffed at Meghan’s latest media venture, calling it “inane,” “self-indulgent” and “stomach-turning.”

But sources say that those launches are just the latest bump in the road for the Sussexes, who saw their $20 million Spotify podcast deal go bust, their Netflix Polo documentary panned, and ex-employees dub Meghan a “dictator in high heels.”

The insider says, “They once had all this support — a financial security blanket from the royal family — but when they left and were on their own, they definitely suffered.”

The source suggests that the former Suits siren considers herself “God’s gift to the world” and is stunned that her efforts haven’t wowed people out of the gate.

One palace insider blames Meghan’s many failed “ego projects” for “blowing” the pair’s fortune, causing brutal bust-ups in the marriage — and eroding the public’s good will.

Adding to the couple’s strife, spies say, their Archewell Foundation has also seen its donations plummet. Tax filings show that the charity took in over $13 million in 2021 — but just $5.3 million in 2023.

And as ENQUIRER readers know, Harry also recently stepped down as patron of Sentebale, the African charity he cofounded nearly two decades ago in honor of his late mother, Princess Diana.

The duke quit after butting heads with Sentebale’s chairwoman, Dr. Sophie Chandauka, who has alleged that Harry tried to force her out for not publicly defending Meghan after a disastrous photo op went viral.

During a 2024 polo fundraiser in Florida, Meghan was caught on camera demanding that Chandauka duck underneath the winner’s trophy and move away from her man, causing critics to label the duchess a demanding diva.

The palace insider says, “They’ve burned every bridge. There is no turning back.”
