The historic Lafayette Theatre in Suffern, N.Y., is set to host a special one-night-only screening of the survival documentary “76 Days Adrift” on Saturday, May 3 at 7:00 PM.

“76 Days Adrift,” executive produced by Academy Award-winner Ang Lee and directed by Joe Wein, chronicles the harrowing true story of Steven Callahan, who survived more than two months lost at sea after his sailboat struck a whale in the Atlantic Ocean. The film combines Callahans first-hand accounts with cinematic storytelling and a haunting score by Patrick Stump, bringing to life a powerful tale of resilience, solitude, and human endurance.

Presented in collaboration with The Nyack Boat Club, the event will feature an in-person appearance and post-screening Q&A with executive producer Robert Sennott, who will also give a special introduction, offering audiences a rare opportunity to engage with one of the films key creative forces.

The film has been praised by critics for its emotional depth and immersive portrayal of Callahans ordeal. Chris Jones of Overly Honest Reviews described the documentary as “a breathtaking narrative…telling a tale of human endurance, the profound solitude of the sea, and an indomitable spirit’s journey through the depths of despair and back.”

For those seeking a night of meaningful, emotionally rich storytelling, 76 Days Adrift promises a cinematic experience that both informs and inspires.

Admission for the screening is $12. Tickets can be purchased at lafayettetheatersuffern.com.
