A crew member was hospitalized and “inches” from potential death after a serious accident on the new set of Live with Kelly and Mark, The National Enquirer can exclusively reveal.

“They fell from a piece of the set,” one production source said. “It wasn’t a small accident — it was a major safety issue. People were in tears. It rattled everyone.”

Sources say the staffer was “likely inches from being killed,” and their injuries were serious enough to cause them to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

The incident — first reported by The Enquirer — forced a one-week delay of the highly anticipated premiere in the new space, with the show temporarily relocating to a backup facility.

Host Kelly Ripa, 54, was furious about being pushed to move into the new space before it was finished.

“Kelly didn’t want to go live from a construction zone,” says the source. “But they forced the move anyway.”

Still, Ripa — who co-hosts alongside husband Mark Consuelos — kept a positive tone on air, greeting viewers by saying, “Welcome to our brand-new studio. Wowee! … What do ya think?”

The shocking incident, which took place as crews rushed to complete the sleek new set, left cast and staff deeply shaken.

“This move felt cursed from day one,” says one longtime staffer. “Tech is glitching, people are missing cues and the energy is off. It’s disastrous.”

Another says that the set has “bad vibes,” adding, “Someone joked we need a priest more than a producer.”

Behind the scenes, Kelly is said to be demanding accountability.

“She’s a pro,” notes the show insider. “She wants answers about the accident, and she wants this mess cleaned up — fast.”

A third source confirmed the construction and timing to move into the set was out of Ripa and Consuelos’ control, and was solely the decision of management.

Neither reps for the show or co-hosts responded to requests for comment.

The move is the latest in a series of turbulent show relocations from ABC’s longtime Midtown spot to parent company Disney’s massive new Hudson Square complex in Lower Manhattan.

As The Enquirer reported previously, the ladies of The View were upset when their show was moved to the new location and they were forced to share studio space with The Tamron Hall Show.

More turmoil may come this summer, when Good Morning America is slated to leave its famed Times Square studio for the new facility.

Says another source: “It’s all a chaotic mess!”
