As businesses increasingly seek robust solutions to manage artificial intelligence at scale, Hitachi Digital Services has announced the launch of Hitachi Application Reliability Centers (HARC) for AI, a new service aimed at improving the reliability, efficiency, and governance of AI and Generative AI (GenAI) applications for enterprises.

Building on the existing HARC platform introduced in 2022, HARC for AI addresses significant challenges such as unpredictable costs, performance degradation, and limited oversight of complex models like large language models (LLMs). The service is designed to provide enterprises with a comprehensive suite of tools to ensure AI applications are stable and efficient.

“Just as we brought structure and rigor to cloud and enterprise operations, we’re now doing the same for AI,” said Premkumar Balasubramanian, Chief Technology Officer at Hitachi Digital Services. “HARC for AI helps organizations monitor, govern, and optimize AI systems so they stay reliable, responsible, and cost-effective.”

HARC for AI offers several key capabilities, including AI Resilience & Performance Management, Data Drift Detection, Cost Optimization, AI Observability, Security & Governance, and Agent Lifecycle Management. These features are designed to ensure stable AI applications, correct data pattern shifts, minimize compute waste, monitor AI performance, protect systems from attacks, and support AI agents throughout their lifecycle.

“As AI rapidly moves from experimentation to enterprise-wide deployment, organizations need more than innovation—they need operational excellence. With HARC for AI, we’re giving enterprises the foundation to run AI and GenAI systems reliably, securely, and at scale. This is about turning AI into a trusted, efficient engine for transformation across every industry,” said Roger Lvin, President and CEO, Hitachi Digital Services.

HARC has already proven its effectiveness, assisting over 40 Fortune 500 companies across various industries, including finance, healthcare, defense, and automotive. Notable successes include maintaining a 99.9% uptime for a global building management firm and helping a U.S. travel tech company reduce revenue losses by 67% in one year. Overall, the company says HARC has saved clients over $150 million through enhanced efficiency, reduced outages, and optimized cloud costs.
